HGV Driver

We’re looking for reliable, professional Class 1 HGV Drivers to join the team at our client, one of the UK’s leading supermarket brands. You’ll play a vital role in keeping the shelves stocked and the customers happy — ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

Step into our busiest (and best-paid!) time of year:

• £20/hr – Weekday Days (06:00–18:00)
• £25/hr – Weekday Nights (18:00–06:00)
• £30/hr – All Weekend

Standard Pay Rate Range : £17.00 - £48.42 per hour
Location:  Bedford 
Shift Pattern: Various shifts and start times available, offering full time week and ad-hoc cover over 7 days a week

Role Responsibilities 

• Driving & Delivering: Operate articulated HGVs (over 3.5 tonnes) for local and national store deliveries, including single and double-deck trailers and cage work. 

• Loading & Unloading: Ensure all loads are properly secured to prevent damage during transit. 

• Route Planning: Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries, adapting to traffic and weather conditions. 

• Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with site personnel and provide excellent customer service. 

• Compliance: Follow all road safety regulations and company procedures, including vehicle checks and reporting defects. 

Requirements 

• A valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence 

• A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card 

• No more than 6 penalty points on your licence 

• A good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations 

• A positive attitude and a commitment to safe, efficient driving
